Common Questions Asked By Our Customers
Do you supply a certificate for treated timber?
No, certicates for treated timber were fazed out with the introduction of ISPM15 standard.
What is ISPM15?
International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures, publication 15: The regulation of wood packaging material in international trade developed to prevent the spread of plant pests and diseases by using specially treated wood packaging material.
We use kiln-dried wood, or wood heated to 56 degrees celsius for 30 minutes. By doing so we ensure that all our wood falls within the ISPM15 standard.
How can you tell if our timber has been treated?
Our end products will have our IPPC (International Plant Protection Convention) mark stenciled in plain view (see our home page). The mark includes our unique registration number that can be traced back to us worldwide. Clicking on the image will take you to their website.
In addition, we are externally audited bi-annually to ensure all measures are being maintained. For an indepth explanation, please follow the link to the Forestry Commision.
